As Part of Newbridge's yearly June Festival, Kildare Youth Theatre is excited to announce a recent production.
Called Boy With A Suitcase, Mike Kenny's play follows the story of a 12 year old war refugee, who undertakes a long and dangerous journey to find asylum in the promised land of London. He carries with him only a small suitcase and a treasure chest of stories from his childhood. A gripping tale of adventure and stories, Naz’s journey throws a spotlight on the real dangers faced by children in other parts of the world, and the lengths to which they must go to reach safety in the relative security of European countries.
Boy With A Suitcase is a production featuring and produced solely by our current European Solidarity Corps volunteers. It features Nikolaos Chatzakis, Koldo Colás, Athina Fragkou, María Ortíz de Villalba, Berta Sipos and Ruben Tobia. It is directed by Marco Mazza and Oguzhan Sahin.
More can be read about all our volunteers on our Current People page.
The play has been performed and recorded once only without an audience, at our Liffey Studio on the 9th June.
This recording will be shared at a special school screening on the 13th of June.
