Kildare Youth Theatre's Touchstone Workshop For Ages 14-16
Our Touchstone Workshop is a drop-in session for young people aged 14-16 interested in drama and theatre techniques. It runs every Tuesday 7-9PM in our Liffey Studio.
The Touchstone workshop explores devising and improvisation, building performance techniques and experience as it progresses. The sessions are fun and games-based. Participants devise short scenes and stage them for each other during the workshop. The themes chosen are those relevant to this age group.
Each session involves feedback and discussion of the short scenes devised. Members of the Touchstone Workshop also have the option to take part in our productions, both modern and classical, as well as take part in some of our international Erasmus+ projects which happen all over Europe.
Every Touchstone workshop takes place from 7-9 each Tuesday night from the months of September to May, pausing for the summer. Because it is a drop-in session, anyone in that age group can join, any Tuesday during the season.
Touchstone runs from September to July, including on bank holidays and on mid-term breaks. There is a two-week break at Christmas and at Easter. All members must complete a membership registration form with their parents.
