Here And There: Call for Applicants for New International Performance Project
Kildare Youth Theatre is excited to announce a new opportunity for our members. Our parent organisation, Crooked House Theatre Company is currently looking for 11 young people aged 18 to 30 to take part in a new project exploring climate action. 'Here and There' is a collaboration between Crooked House and Kinitiras, Athens, and funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
Participants will work with Peter Hussey and other artists to devise a performance to be staged in Newbridge and in Dublin in 2022. They will meet weekly (mostly, and with breaks) from April onwards. They will also travel to Athens to take part in a week of workshops and theatre-making from 27th August to 4th September 2022.
'Here and There' will conclude in the Autumn 2022. The time and date of performances will be decided by the ensemble when it is formed.
All training, travel, and the programme in Athens, are free to participants.
Applicants can be from any part of Ireland provided they are able to travel to Newbridge weekly. We particularly welcome those with theatre-making experience or training; present or former youth theatre members (Including those in Kildare Youth Theatre); students and former students of acting and/performance; and performers from migrant backgrounds.
