New training course in Spain
Generator: Youth Drama Facilitation for Young Leaders
Sunday 14th – Sunday 21st February 2016
Our next international project is an exciting training course we've organised for February. Generator is a training programme for young and emerging theatre artists who are learning to facilitate drama workshops. We are bringing ogether 50 participants in Valencia, Spain, to train in methods of facilitation used by more experienced and older professions from Denmark, Ireland, Austria, Spain and Norway.
The training is for anyone aged over 18 (our participants have been selected from Kildare Youth Theatre members). We will use a mix of peer-learning, practical demonstrations, collaborative creation, discussion and reflection to share techniques, and to pass on elements of good practice to the younger participants.
We hope that each participant will return to their host organization and community better equipped to lead their own workshops with children and young people in schools, youth groups and youth theatres. In this way, Generator is an employability enhancement project, encouraging and supporting participants to promote themselves as drama facilitators.
The Project Co-ordinator is Peter Hussey.
Generator is funded by the Erasmus+ programme fund for youth. All project costs are covered.
We are organising the project with our network of European youth theatre partners. Our main collaborator for this programme is is GoEurope, based in Valencia in Spain.
