Auditions: Merchant of Venice

Auditions for our 2016 production of The Merchant of Venice will take place at Crooked House, 1 Main Street, Newbridge, County Kildare on Sunday 13th September from 2pm to 4pm.

Performers aged 14 to 30 are invited to attend. The workshop will involve people pairing off and preparing a selection of dialogue from either Act 1 Scene 2 or Act 1 Scene 3. Anyone who wishes to prepare a section in advance with a friend may do so. The section should be around 4 to 5 minutes long.

This audition is open to anyone who is, or is not, a member of KIldare Youth Theatre. If successful, and you are cast in the play, you will be required to become a member of the youth theatre (at a cost of €50) to cover insurance fees. Exisitng members, of course, will not be required to pay again.

Rehearsals for the production will be on Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm and on Sundays from 5pm to 8pm in Newbridge. We rehearse scenes in chorological order so actors will not be needed for every rehearsal.

The production will be staged in April/May locally.
